A territorial entity recognized in the Spanish Constitution, made up of one or more bordering provinces with common historical, cultural, and economic characteristics. They have legislative autonomy for the matters set forth in their Statute of Autonomy (powers), as well as a chamber of representatives and an autonomous government.
