Riverbanks

1. Riverbanks are defined as the lateral strips of public waterways located above the low water level, and margins as the land adjacent to the waterways. The margins are subject, along their entire length: a) To a five-meter-wide easement zone for public use, which will be regulated by law. b) To a 100-meter-wide police zone in which land use and activities will be restricted. 2. In areas near the mouth of a waterway at the sea, in the immediate vicinity of reservoirs, or when the topographical or hydrographic conditions of the waterways and margins make it necessary for the safety of persons and property, the width of both zones may be modified as determined by law.
