Crude Mortality Rate

A demographic indicator that reflects the proportion of people who die relative to the total population in a given period, usually a year. It is calculated by dividing the number of deaths occurring during a specific period by the population during that same period. The result is then multiplied by one thousand. This rate indicates the frequency with which deaths occur in a population. (Number of deaths * 1000 / Total population).
