A demographic indicator that reflects the proportion of births relative to the total population in a given period, usually a year. It is calculated by dividing the number of births during a specific period by the total population during that same period. The result is then multiplied by one thousand. This rate indicates the frequency of births in a population. (Number of births * 1000 / Total Population).
