Xerophilous

Relating to plants or plant formations adapted to the lack of moisture in arid environments, such as those with widespread or deep roots, reduced leaves, or leaves transformed into thorns, among other mechanisms. Examples include the palmetto and esparto grass, or, in the Canary Islands, the cardón.
