Barrenness

Aridity is a situation resulting from insufficient rainfall and water scarcity. It is related to agricultural needs and temperature patterns (higher temperatures lead to greater aridity). In Spain, the driest areas are located in the southeast of the peninsula and the eastern part of the Canary Islands. Aridity indices are established based on average temperatures, rainfall, and sometimes, observed evaporation.
