Relating to plants or plant formations that lose their leaves during the cold season. In Spain, these formations are characteristic of the oceanic climate and, consequently, of the Eurosiberian biogeographic region. They feature trees with straight, smooth trunks and broad leaves, such as oak or beech, and a sparse understory.
