A set of landforms derived from the dissolution of limestone (formed from water-soluble calcium carbonate) in contact with waters slightly acidic due to the dissolved CO2 it contains. On the surface, it presents characteristic forms such as karst basins, lenares, gorges, sinkholes, cavities, chasms, and caves.
