Material derived from carbonaceous materials of plant or animal origin, used primarily to maintain or increase the organic matter content of the soil, improve its physical properties, and also enhance its chemical or biological properties or activity. Materials of organic origin that are not fertilizer products, according to type 6 of Royal Decree 506/2013 of June 28, or functional product category 4 (FPC 4) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, in particular waste recovered through an R1001, shall be applied to the soil in accordance with their sectoral legislation and in compliance with the requirements established in this Royal Decree.
