Peneplain

1. A landform that typically covers large areas and, due to erosion, presents a gently undulating surface with little difference in elevation between valleys and interfluves. Composed of ancient and eroded materials, its formation corresponds to the end of the erosion cycle, which is completed with the total destruction of the landforms. It results in a monotonous relief that is not very high above the base level, in which residual relief features occasionally appear. In Spain, they are located in the western part of the sub-plateaus. 2. An extensive area of low relief, with wide, flat valleys, resulting from a prolonged erosional process, formed in humid environments by subaerial denudation, with sea level as the base level.
