Areas that conserve ecosystems and habitats, along with the cultural values and traditional natural resource management systems associated with them. They are typically extensive, with the majority of the area in natural condition, a portion of which is sustainably managed, and where one of the main objectives is considered to be the low-level, non-industrial use of natural resources, compatible with nature conservation.
