Rural settlement patterns range from dispersed to concentrated, including intermediate forms. Among these, the most notable are loose concentration, where dwellings, although grouped within the same nucleus, are physically separated from one another and connected to the environment through cultivated and livestock areas, and intercalary concentration, where small settlements or villages exist that are dependent on a larger nucleus.
